The Far Side: In one of the most famous Far Side strips, two deer are shown in the woods, one of them sporting a bullseye on his chest. The second deer comments, "Bummer of a birthmark, Hal." In this comic, Larson demonstrates his talent for fusing comedy with darkness in a way that satisfies and surprises readers.
The Far Side
A bear is in front of a cottage in another Far Side comic. The bears were drawn to the cabin's contents, which undoubtedly contained a container of milk, the caption says. Although it's easy to imagine a bear becoming hooked on human possessions, the animation is humorous because it shows how absurd it is for a bear to be fixated on a milk cartoon.
